Showtime! September 5th, the Mrs. America pageant!

Just before the pageant, it began to downpour and we weren't sure how we were going to walk on that stage! Luckily, the crew got on their hands and knees with towels to make sure the stage was dry and luckily no one fell down.

Here I am walking out in my opening number dress that the pageant gave to us. The color that was chosen for me was hot pink and it is a very sexy dress as you will see when you watch the pageant.

Here I am backstage after the top 15 were called. For the rest of us, pizza, sandwiches, and pasta salad was ordered for us so we enjoyed eating as we watched the pageant.

Here I am with my husband Sam, it was our 3 year anniversary the day of the pageant so regardless of the outcome, it was a great day with lots to celebrate. Omarosa also found out something more that I had to share and so she had me announce it on national television. I announced that we are 3 months pregnant and are expecting our first child in March!

Me and my funny roommate Suzette Bryan, Mrs. Georgia. I miss you already Suzette! We had a blast together!

Tuesday, September 4th, last night of rehearsal

It's late and good thing this is the last night of rehearsal. We had gone thru two days of rehearsing at 10 hrs. per day! Omarosa attended our rehearsal so she could meet everyone and figure out who had anything good to say. To my surprise, she was super nice, at least to me, and we got along great.

Me and Alan Thicke, host of this year's Mrs. America pageant. He arrived that day and as you can see, it's a late rehearsal into 11pm and I think everyone was exhausted.

After rehearsal, I met up with Holly, Mrs. MN 2006, Faith, and Marney, Mrs. America. I wish I could of stayed with them for a drink, but I was too exhausted and headed up to bed.

Sunday, September 2nd, Prelim's!

On the evening of Sunday, Sept. 2nd we had our preliminary competitions in evening gown, swimsuit, and state costume. The day before we had our interviews and today was the day we would really be competing. I wasn't nervous, I just couldn't believe that I was really there and
that it was almost over!

Here I am competing in evening gown, I decided to wear Faith's gorgeous Versace gown. Thanks Faith for letting me wear it! I felt like a million dollars in this dress.

Fun pictures from Mrs. America!

O.k. here is Faith at midnight ironing my roommates interview suit for the next morning. Faith you are amazing. I don't iron unless its a state of an emergency! I thought this was a cute picture.

This might not look funny, but after everything was o.k. it turned out to be a funny story. My husband arrived with Faith and Carl on Wed. Aug. 29th and lets just say you will have to watch Mrs. America to hear the full story of what happened. Well, to make a long story short, he gets t-boned by a cop car, passes out for a few seconds, gets a catscan, Faith and Carl drive me to the hospital, as you can see my sandwich at the end of his bed, I am a hungry pregnant woman! My evening gowns are hanging on the iv rack and while all this is going on, someone gets shot, a man runs thru the hospital, the hospital is on lock down, a german shepard chases him down, he gets arrested ( I think he was the one that shot the kid that came in) and then if things didn't get any worse, Carl goes outside and see's a 300 pound man handcuffed to a car. At that point we were all like, let's get the heck out of here! Luckily everything ended up being fine, Sam is still very sore on his shoulder, and neck, but he will be fine in 6 weeks.

Here I am with Christine, Mrs. Ohio (in the pool) and Suzette, Mrs. Georgia as we're competing in a scavenger hunt around the hotel.

One of the tasks was to drink a shot of whatever you wanted. Christine decides to have some tequila, but then she spit it back into the glass.

David Marmel's Dinner

Well, I'm finally back from Mrs. America and even though I did not win, I had a wonderful time and made some great friends across the country. Here I am with Elaine Marmel, Mr. David Marmel's wife (President of Mrs. America) Suzette Bryan, Mrs. Georgia, and Hallie Thompson, Mrs. Illinois. All the contestants were invited to Mr. Marmel's suite for dinner and we were all given Vera Bradley bags with our own state embroidered on the bag as well as Kathy Hilton face creme which was wonderful.

Here I am at the party with Mrs. World, Diane Tucker and Mrs. America Marney Duckworth.

Thursday, Aug. 30th, dinner at Pastiche

Here we are at a fantastic restaurant called Pastiche. Every meal had a different wine that came with it and we had a great time. That evening Mrs. America, Marney Duckworth joined all of us for dinner which was extra special.
